Using the Citizen Wallet at Crypto Wednesday
We lost the keys of @bar @bank @xavier @kevex91 so we ended up redeploying a new ERC20 contract and minting the previous balance for everyone.

Transactions got stuck because of Polygon.
We need our own sidechain / cache / buffer to make sure we don’t block the flow of transactions. We could commit to the chain in a different thread / at different intervals.
@cryptobar received 146 zinnes in 25 transactions, current balance: 278.5 zinnes

🔬 Quick follow up on the first experiment of using an on-chain version of the local currency "Zinne.brussels" at the last Crypto Wednesday Bar 🍻🍕
- The bar received 29 transactions for a total of 132.50 ZINNE
- We sold for €199 of Zinne, including my own €50
How was the experience for you? How would you make it better for next time?
Learnings
- It’s a pain to have to manage both a paper version and a digital version. I now understand why some shops refuse to deal with cash
- It’s important to offer a discount to incentivize people to pay with the token (or to add a tax if they want to pay with euros, or simply to not allow any other payment method)
- It’s great to offer transparency towards the community on how much the bar has collected
Ways to improve
- Add a message with the transaction to know what we paid for
- Have a live dashboard (on a phone / tablet) to show real time transactions and a play a “DING” whenever a transaction happened
- Automate onramp (monerium and/or Stripe)
