Citizen Wallet at Regens Unite Berlin learnings
Regens Unite (https://regensunite.earth) is a two day gathering that brings together Regens, people exploring different ways to regenerate ourselves, our communities and our environment.
For this second edition of Regens Unite Berlin, we decided to introduce a community currency to pay during the event for drinks, dinner and at the market. We made some posters and a FAQ (https://docs.regensunite.earth/rgn).
Feedback
“I’ve never seen such an easy onboarding to web3”
“I was skeptical at first. I just wanted to use the paper tokens. But I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how smooth it was.”
Also the voucher is a big winner. It’s like printing a bank note on your screen that people can just grab with their default phone camera. It’s a magical experience 🪄
Learnings
- We need an easy way for people to show to the vendor that they just paid
- We need an easy way for the vendor to just see incoming transactions -> popup notification right?
- Username should be able to have underscores (and have the same constraints as instagram/twitter/…)
- We need an easy way to print a QR code for your shop
- Wallet name should be set to the profile
- Transactions need to show the timestamp in the transaction list, in the local timezone
- Transactions should be grouped by day
- In app notifications of incoming transactions.
- Vouchers should have an expiry date
- When redeeming, don’t close the redeem modal before the money arrives.
- Sending modal
- should show the account used to pay
- If balance is insufficient, show a custom text to guide people with the onramp process
- When switching account, go to the main screen, not the profile screen
- Edit button on profile should be a secondary button (or link)
- Sorting issue of transactions
The Regen Lottery
We invited people to participate in the lottery to receive regenerative goods or services offered by the community (everyone was invited to offer something). To enter the lottery, you had to buy one paper token (could be used). This was a great way to get people to buy tokens or to spend their leftovers tokens.
Some numbers
- 75 account holders
- 232 transactions
From Polygonscan analytics. The transfer amount includes bank transactions. We should make a dune analytics dashboard excluding these addresses for accuracy.
